About Kara
When people ask me what I do for a living, my answer has always been, “I’m an actor.” Because, well, that’s all I’ve ever known.
I was just a kid when I started acting in theatre, but my career really started in my teens when I was hired to co-host a show on Radio Disney. One day, while on the air, I came across an ad in the paper looking for actors who could voice cartoons. I sauntered down to a local bank in Ft. Worth, TX and was cast in a little show called DragonBall Z. That was in 1999 – can you believe we’re still going strong?
In 2006, I decided voice acting was my forever work passion, so I built my first home studio and got to work! In the years since, you’ve heard me on shows like My Hero Academia, One Piece, Fruits Basket, and Raggs. Games like Borderlands, Smite, FighterZ and Orcs Must Die. Commercials for companies like La-Z-Boy, Universal Studios, Barbie, Goodwill, Uber, Toys R Us, Subway and Shopkins. I’ve been the international voice (and audio producer!) for Highlights Magazine for Children for the past 15 years and counting.
Basically, voice acting is what I do. It’s who I am. It’s clearly in my genes because even my kiddo is into it now (You can check Michael’s voice demo out below). I’m an actor. A girl-next-door, easy going, versatile, organic, professional…actor. And I’d love to help you bring your vision to life.
Oh, when I’m not on mic or enjoying being mom to my young son and step daughter, you can also find me working in my gardens, making earthy metal jewelry or hanging out in the studio with my friend, Laura, as we record our podcast for parents – Should They Watch It?
